Clerk of the House of Representatives, Rep. Ilham Saki, is taking part in a meeting of the Steering Bureau of the High-level Parliamentary Group on Science and Technology under the Arab Parliament, taking place on July 18-19, 2022, in Amman, Jordan.
The participation falls under the functions of Rep. Ilham Saki as a member of the Steering Bureau of the Group. The latter, being the first Arab parliamentary network specialized in science and technology, intends to stimulate interest in this area in the Arab world.
The meeting, taking place at the seat of the Jordanian Parliament, tackles the oriented strategic discussion of the Group’s action for the next four years, which aims mainly to support the use of modern digital technologies within Arab parliaments.
During the meeting, Rep. Ilham Saki lauded the keenness of the Bureau members to implement the role of the High-level Parliamentary Group on Science and Technology under the Arab Parliament, being a qualitative mechanism that aims to promote Arab parliamentary complementarity and solidarity and to advance the methodologies of parliamentary action in the brotherly Arab States to ensure the conditions for their competitiveness at the global level.
The Clerk of the House also presented the experience of the Moroccan House of Representatives in digitalizing parliamentary work through the "e-parliament" project. The latter focuses on valuing parliamentary action and improving its efficiency, reinforcing the abilities of the House of Representatives in performing its Constitutional legislative and control functions, and increasing its openness to the concerns of citizens.
It should be noted that the Jordanian capital, Amman, would be the home to the High-level Parliamentary Group on Science and Technology under the Arab Parliament, as the permanent office of the Group was inaugurated within the seat of the Jordanian Parliament in the presence of the President of the Arab Parliament, Hon. Adel Abdulrahman Al Asoomi, the Speaker of the Jordanian Parliament, Hon. Abdel Karim Doghmi, and the CEO of the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global Group, Mr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh.
