Chairperson of the Productive Sectors Committee Receives the South Korea-Morocco Parliamentary Friendship Group

Chairperson of the Productive Sectors Committee at the House of Representatives, Rep. Jamal Diwany, received on Monday, October 31, 2022, at the House, the members of the South Korea-Morocco Parliamentary Friendship Group, headed by Ms. In Jae Keun, with some members of the Group. The members previously held talks with their counterparts from the Moroccan Parliament as part of their working visit to the Kingdom.

The Chairperson of the Productive Sectors Committee gave a brief overview of its missions and prerogatives, which converge with the interests of the Korean delegation. In the meantime, Rep. Jamal Diwani commended the strong diplomatic and economic ties linking the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of South Korea, calling for the consolidation of the exchange of expertise between the two countries, especially that the impact of the parliamentary friendship groups covers the economic actors of both countries, as South Korea has made a huge leap in terms of technology and scientific research, which has led it to occupy a strategic position at the global scene.

In the same respect, the Chairperson of the Committee noted that the Kingdom of Morocco offers great investment opportunities, amidst its dynamic economic evolution under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, especially in industry, services, and logistics, which attracts investments. Rep. Diwani also stressed the importance of deepening dialogue and exchanging experiences between the members of the two parliamentary friendship groups.

During the same meeting, Rep. Diwani highlighted the desire of the Kingdom of Morocco to provide energy sovereignty by adopting renewable energies, especially given the current climate changes that pose an environmental challenge. He also called for exploiting the Korean experience to build the foundations of partnership between the public and private sectors in the two countries.

For their part, the Korean delegation affirmed the deep friendship and cooperation ties between the two countries, who celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of South Korea. The delegation also noted the development of the Kingdom in several areas, especially in the car and aviation industry, and renewable energies. In this respect, they noted that the Kingdom is witnessing an unprecedented economic dynamic.

The Korean parliamentarians added that they will inform Korean investors of the great opportunities the Moroccan economy offers, and called for uplifting the level of bilateral ties in order to benefit from the experiences of both countries, given the mutual challenges they face.
