Meeting to Discuss Themes Related to the Crop Rear and Pursue the Examination of Government Bill 81.21, on Wednesday, February 23, 2022

Meeting of the Productive Sector Committee on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at 10 A.M., in the presence of Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests, to:

1-    Discuss the following themes raised by the parliamentary groups and caucus:

• “Ways to support small farmers due to late onset of seasonal rains, namely in fallow lands”, by the Socialist Group;
• “Current crop year and the actions taken to support the sector in light of late onset of seasonal rains”, by the Group of the National Rally of Independents ;
• “National strategy adopted to follow up and support farmers in light of failure of seasonal rain in this crop year”, by the Group of Authenticity and Modernity ;
• “Considerable decrease of water in dams and its impact on the agricultural sector in light of late onset of seasonal rains, and the actions taken to manage the critical water situation during this crop year”, by  the Group of Authenticity and Modernity;
• “Drought and its impact on the population in rural and mountainous areas”, by the Socialist Group;
• “Late onset of seasonal rains and its impact on farmers and breeders”, by the Social, Democratic and Constitutional Group;
• “Drought impact and repercussions on agricultural and livestock sectors, and the elaboration of an emergency programme to mitigate the economic and social consequences of this phenomenon”, by Opposition groups and caucus;
• “Situation of the current crop year and actions taken to support farmers and breeders in light of late onset of seasonal rains”, by Majority groups and the Social, Democratic and Constitutional Group;

2-    Pursue the examination of Government Bill 81.21 amending and supplementing Law 80.40 on the creation of the National Institute for Agricultural Research.
