Meeting to Discuss Report on Exploratory Mission and Other Five Topics

The Justice, Legislation, and Human Rights Committee will hold a meeting on Wednesday, July 8th, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. with the Minister of State in Charge of Human Rights and Relations with the Parliament, and the Delegate-General of Prison Administration and Reintegration (DGAPR). The meeting will:

I. Discuss the report on the interim exploratory mission on penal institutions: Prison Moul Bergui in Safi, Ain Sebaâ Local Prison in Casablanca, and Prison Toulal 1 in Meknes.

II. Discuss the following topics:

1. The measures taken by the Delegation to limit the outbreak of COVID-19 within penal institutions, especially after the emergence of hotspots within some of them (Group of Justice and Development),

2. The measures taken to face COVID-19 in penal institutions (Socialist Group),

3. Increase in numbers of COVID-19 infections within penal institutions (Group of Authenticity and Modernity),

4. The outbreak of COVID-19 within some penal institutions, and the preventive measures taken to limit it (Haraki Group),

5. The efforts made to face COVID-19 in penal institutions (Istiqlali Group for Unity and Egalitarianism).
