Discussion Themes Relating to Tourism on Wednesday, February 2, 2022

Meeting of the Productive Sectors Committee on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at noon, with the Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts and Social and Solidarity Economy, to discuss the following themes raised by the parliamentary groups:

- Encouraging cultural tourism and promoting touristic places in our country (Socialist Group);

- Situation of the tourism sector in our country amidst the repercussions of Covid-19 and the rise of the new variant, and the Government measures to support this sector (Group of the National Rally of Independents);

- Situation of the tourism sector given the airspace lockdown, prevention of artistic and cultural events, and the impacts of these decisions on the professionals of the sector (Socialist Group);

- Plan to revive national tourism, especially given the new measures imposed by the new “Omicron” variant (Haraki Group);

- Crisis in the tourism sector amidst the repercussions of Covid-19 and the sudden closure of borders and the impacts of the latter on this important sector (Istiqlali Group of Unity and Egalitarianism);

- Government strategy and emergency measures to get the tourism professionals and actors out of this long crisis and to clarify its vision on this sector (Parliamentary Caucus of Justice and Development);

- Government action plan to rescue tourism given the propagation of Covid-19 (Istiqlali Group of Unity and Egalitarianism);

- Means to overcome the crisis of national tourism and the affiliate sectors and professions, such as handicrafts, travel agencies, tourist and air transportation, tourist guides, hotels and hostels, caterers, restaurants, and other actors (Haraki Group). 

- Situation of the Moroccan handicrafts sector amidst the persistence of the repercussions of Covid-19," (Group of the National Rally of Independents).
