Discussion of Themes Regarding Roads on Tuesday, January 9, 2024

Meeting of the Infrastructure, Energy, Mines, and Environment Committee on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., with the Minister of Equipment and Water, upon the request of the Socialist Group – Ittihadi Opposition, the Group of the National Rally of Independents, the Group of Progress and Socialism, the Parliamentary Caucus of Justice and Development, the Majority Groups, the Constitutional, Democratic, and Social Group, and the Haraki Group, to discuss the following themes:

-     Reality of road infrastructure in our country and the prospects of achieving convergence between all stakeholders (Socialist Group – Ittihadi Opposition);

-     Road maintenance program in our country (Socialist Group – Ittihadi Opposition); 

-     Distribution of road projects at the level of provinces and regions (Socialist Group – Ittihadi Opposition); 

-     Status of the Moroccan National Highway Company ‘Autoroutes du Maroc’ (Socialist Group – Ittihadi Opposition);

-     Progress of construction works for the Tiznit-Laayoune-Dakhla double carriageway (Group of the National Rally of Independents); 

-     Precarious state of some roads and the pressing need to restore them (Group of Progress and Socialism); 

-     Reality and prospects of highways in Morocco (Parliamentary Caucus of Justice and Development); 

-     Status and programs of the Moroccan National Highway Company ‘Autoroutes du Maroc’ (Group of the National Rally of Independents); 

-     Measures taken to rebuild the infrastructure in terms of roads, paths, bridges, and water facilities, and the efforts deployed by the Ministry to break isolation on the areas struck by the Haouz Earthquake (Parliamentary Caucus of Justice and Development); 

-     Program of restoring the infrastructure damaged by the Haouz Earthquake (Majority Groups and the Constitutional, Democratic, and Social Group); 

-     Impact of the earthquake that struck our country on roads and bridges, and the measures taken to rebuild, repair, and restore them (Haraki Group); 

Damages inflicted to road and dam infrastructure and equipment; the aqueducts created by the Haouz Earthquake, and the program for rebuilding and restoring said infrastructure following the high Royal directives on the matter (Socialist Group – Ittihadi Opposition).
